Art in the Regency Time

The art during the time Arcadia took place was very new and inventive, moving art into the Romantic Period. It also commented on many philosophical thoughts of the day.

One very important artist was William Blake, an English artist who was more known for his poetry, including Visions of the Daughters of Albion.

Another painting by William Blake, perhaps his most famous, called "The Ancient of Days."

Perhaps the widest known painting of the era is "Third of May" by Francisco de Goya. This painting depicts the fears and horrors of war, wars that were quite common in the Napoleonic Age.

"The Bather of Valpicon" is a widely-known painting by Jean-Auguste Dominique Ingres, a French painter of the romantic era.
