We spent 3 days in Washington, DC, touring the famous sights of our nation's capitol, celebrating Shakespeare's birthday at the Folger Library and seeing Hamlet, seeing the Holocaust Museum, celebrating Earth Day with a surprise outside concert on the National Mall with John Legend & Sting, seeing the Smithsonian museums, and having a great time together!

Lady Macbeth: "Out, damned spot!"

Serendipity!-- Wally ran into one of her former AP Lit students who is now an administrator of a high school.

He was chaperoning the Macbeth fieldtrip! He e-mailed me Wednesday night:

Hello Linda,

It sure was fun to see you today at the Guthrie. I heard someone say, "Eden Prairie over here," or something like that. I wondered to myself, I wonder if I would still know the teacher. I heard someone say your name, and I thought you had a different one. Then I got a good look at you, and you haven't changed a bit, well just a tiny bit! You must have been twelve when you started there thirty-three years ago!

I am glad you are still doing what you love; you were an important element to my education. When I went off to college, it was the initial year of their great books honors program. My teacher, a wonderful gal with a classics Ph.D, didn't really know how such a program should be run. It was too much lecture and not nearly enough vigorous discussion. With my background in you senior AP lit. class, I was able to explain to her how it should go. The next class she implemented my suggestions, and the rest is history. Thanks for what you gave me.

Take care,

Mr. Anthony Biese, Director of Catholic Education & Dean of Junior High
